Tell us a little about yourself:<\/strong> I\u2019m from the Columbia River Gorge, a little town called The Dalles, an hour east of Portland, OR. Although you probably don\u2019t remember, at one point in life you\u2019ve probably tried really hard to get to my hometown only to die of dysentery shortly before arrival (getting to The Dalles was the objective of the original Oregon Trail<\/em> game). Other than that, I\u2019m a serial entrepreneur, blessed to have lived in some of the most beautiful places on earth, including the San Francisco Bay Area, Columbia River Gorge, Salt Lake City\/Wasatch Front, and now Austin, Texas.<\/p>\n

How long have you been at Adscend Media and what is your role at the company?<\/strong> I\u2019ve been with the company for about six weeks. It feels like its been more like twice that long though (not because its been painful, quite the opposite \ud83d\ude42 ). Its been a real pleasure, and quite a lot has already happened, and there\u2019s much more in the works! We\u2019ve added to our team, upgraded lots of our technology, we\u2019re improving the way our company communicates internally, working on new products, and moving offices all at once. There is quite a bit of momentum at Adscend right now.<\/p>\n

Are you able to explain to your friends and family what you do?<\/strong> No, never. When asked by friends, my wife always says, \u201ccomputer stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

What do you like most about working at Adscend?<\/strong> The people. Everybody always says “the people” in interviews like this, but the team here is amazing. I also like having the opportunity to help take Adscend technology to the next level. I\u2019ve always been attracted to unique opportunities, and Adscend is a place where I can be a part of something special.<\/p>\n

What are your favorite technology industry blogs?<\/strong>\u00a024 ways<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is a web design and development blog with a development tilt, but it only runs for the first 24 days in December each year.<\/p>\n

Which tech fad won’t be around in 2015?<\/strong> AngularJS<\/em>\u00a0is a popular web development framework. I believe that the learning curve required after mastering the basics will be its undoing. 2015 might be a little early, but I wouldn\u2019t be surprised to see the interest curve for it start to inflect downwards by then.<\/p>\n
