Tell Us a Little About Yourself:\u00a0<\/strong>I am an internet marketing pro from Sacramento, CA. I started working in the online space about ten years ago when I began working for a skincare company as an SEO copywriter.<\/p>\n

How long have you been at Adscend Media and what is your role at the company?<\/strong>\u00a0I have been with Adscend since October and my role consists of helping to\u00a0develop, execute and\u00a0analyze\u00a0all company marketing strategies.<\/p>\n

Are you able to explain to your friends and family what you do?<\/strong>\u00a0No way. I would say that most people who work in affiliate marketing can’t explain it to anyone not in the industry. It’s like our own secret society.<\/p>\n

What do you like most about your job?<\/strong>\u00a0I love being able to work on several different projects at one time and finding new ways to reach potential users of our products. Adscend also has two huge<\/em> projects launching in 2013, and it will be an amazing experience to help with those launches.<\/p>\n

What is the most common question that affiliates ask you?<\/strong>\u00a0Do you have any exclusive offers?<\/p>\n

How would you recommend someone get started in affiliate marketing?<\/strong>\u00a0The best way to get started is to read as many affiliate marketing guides as possible and reach out to as many people as you can in the industry. Donating your time to help out an affiliate or a network, in exchange for something of value, isn’t a bad idea either. Working for free isn’t fun, however, your service may get you more industry\u00a0knowledge, access to high level industry connections, or may even help you land a job!<\/p>\n

If you could give only one piece of advice to your affiliates, what would that be?<\/strong>\u00a0Work with your affiliate managers. The more that you communicate your marketing\u00a0strengths, needs and niche targets to your affiliate manager, the more he or she can help you find offers that will convert for you.<\/p>\n

Do you see any new publisher traffic generating techniques emerging in affiliate marketing in 2013?<\/strong>\u00a0I think SEO will be back in 2013. Search\u00a0engines\u00a0have always valued quality content. While new marketing\u00a0techniques\u00a0can bring quick profits, they also tend to get oversaturated and flame out. SEO has been abandoned by many affiliates due to Google’s Penguin update. However, those who continue to create quality content will benefit from less competition in 2013.<\/p>\n

What do you like to do for fun when you aren’t working?<\/strong>\u00a0I am a huge Mets fan and enjoy all things baseball. I also love documentaries\u00a0and will watch almost any\u00a0documentary\u00a0that’s playing.<\/p>\n
