Cost Per Engagement (CPE)
What is Cost Per Engagement (CPE)?
Cost per engagement (CPE) is a performance-based pricing model where advertisers pay each time a user completes a specific engagement action, like reaching a game level, registering, or making a deposit. Unlike other pricing models such as Cost Per Install (CPI) or Cost Per Lead (CPL), CPE centers on deeper user interactions. CPE campaigns are particularly effective in an Offerwall environment. CPE campaigns lead to more meaningful user engagements, retention, and ultimately, increased return on ad spend (ROAS).
What Advertisers Work Best for CPE Campaigns?
CPE campaigns can be effectively utilized by a broad range of advertisers, but they are especially popular amongst mobile game advertisers. By defining multiple milestones for users to reach within a game, advertisers can encourage continued engagement. Users are rewarded for each engagement with the game, while the game benefits from increased retention, monetization, and improved ROAS. For example, an advertiser may offer a small reward to the user for signing up as a user and progressively larger rewards for reaching level 5, 15, 30, and beyond.
